The Global Diplomacy Lab

The Global Diplomacy Lab (GDL) serves as a platform for a new and more inclusive diplomacy that goes beyond traditional politics. It aims at challenging and exploring the meaning of diplomacy and depicting its multiple facades that are often present but concealed (as such) in all sectors of our societies. Hence, the GDL brings together representatives of a variety of sectors and creative individuals worldwide to discuss international politics on the meta-level.

What should diplomacy look like in the future?

Which competences do we need in order to better identify our scope of action?

These are questions that the Federal Foreign Office, under the patronage of the Federal Foreign Minister, in partnership with various foundations and other foreign ministries are eager to investigate together with outstanding members of their networks from all continents.

Training for Internationale Diplomats alumni are invited once a year to apply to become a member of the Global Diplomacy Lab.
