Countries formerly labeled "emerging markets” have been experiencing a period  of political consolidation and welfare gains. In global matters these new global players assume a growing ownership. But what does this mean for pressing global issues such as peace and stability, free trade, or the protection of the environment? How do the new players perceive the reaction of the traditional ones to their endeavours? And how will the global debate and negotiation processes change under these new conditions?
