- Getting ready for Germany
- RSS Federal Foreign Office
The reconstruction of Afghanistan is one of the main priorities of German foreign policy. Determined to build a “partnership for the future”, Germany and Afghanistan are working together to build and develop a modern foreign service for Afghanistan. The historical friendship between the two countries, humanitarian aid and security interests all play an equal role in this respect.
The aim of the course is to contribute to democratic development in Afghanistan. Topics covered include the basic concepts of public and constitutional law, security policy and peacekeeping, as well as economic cooperation. Participants can practise their negotiating skills in a UN Security Council simulation and will learn to present their positions publicly in simulated press conferences
The programme’s objective is, however, not only to help strengthen and consolidate democracy in Afghanistan, but also to promote and support regional cooperation. As such, the programme is open to young outward-looking diplomats from Afghanistan and its neighbouring countries.
