The Global Diplomacy Lab (GDL) serves as a platform for a new and more inclusive diplomacy that goes beyond traditional politics. It aims at challenging and exploring the meaning of diplomacy and depicting it’s multiple facades that are often present but concealed (as such) in all sectors of our societies. Hence, the GDL brings together representatives of a variety of sectors and creative individuals worldwide to discuss international politics on the meta-level.
What should diplomacy look like in the future?
Which competences do we need in order to better identify our scope of action?
These are questions that the Federal Foreign Office, under the patronage of Federal Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and in partnership with the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt, the Global Leadership Academy, the Stiftung Mercator and the Robert Bosch Stiftung are eager to investigate together with outstanding members of their networks from all continents.
