21st European Diplomatic Programme
From 17 to 18 September, Module I of the 21st European Diplomatic Programme was hosted virtually by the Federal Foreign Office as part of the German Council Presidency. It brought together 60 young diplomats and 35 training officers from all EU countries. The programme focused on three training sessions, which were designed by eight Global Diplomacy Lab (GDL) trainers.
While the objectives of the European Diplomatic Programme, which consists of four modules each year, are to promote intercultural political and professional networking among the young diplomats, our Module I focused on both the major topic area of the COVID-19 pandemic and, in particular, on multilateralism and civil crisis management.
These topics were reflected in three training sessions, coping with crisis management, conflicts of the past and their handling, and Europe’s Agenda 2030.
