Transformation Partnerships | TP

Within the scope of the transformation partnerships Germany actively supports the democratisation process in North Africa and the Middle East. Close cooperation has been agreed with Tunisia, Egypt and Libya, and this can be extended further to other reform states. The priorities of this cooperation are to stabilise the democratisation process, strengthen civil society, promote human rights and the rule of law, support good governance, and to ensure economic and social stabilisation, as well as to engage in cooperation in the scientific and educational sectors.

The courses are tailored to the needs and priorities of the partner countries. The substance of the programme is determined by specialist issues as well as cross-sectoral questions in the field of governance within transformation processes. Discussions at the Federal Foreign Office, the Federal Chancellery Office, the Bundestag and the Bundesrat, as well as contacts with political foundations, think tanks and the media, give our young guests an overview of the most important issues in German and European foreign policy, as well as of the organisation and operations of the Federal Foreign Office. Study tours within Germany offer opportunities to establish contacts with important businesses, research institutions and cultural institutions and thereby highlight important economic and cultural aspects of Germany.

The courses are held in English or French.

Two executive seminars emerged from this programme, Egypt | EGY and Maghreb | MAG.
